Welcome to the Music Capital of Kentucky!
Rockcastle County is known for being the home of the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and Museum, honoring our musical heritage of all genres through programs, exhibits, and events. Plus, with over 85 years of performances, Renfro Valley Entertainment Center has contained a lot of history within its two performance buildings.
Enjoy the scenic beauty and relax along the Rockcastle River on a kayak or paddle board. You can also take a boat or fish along the banks of Lake Linville. Nearby is our newly installed Veteran's Park, as well as RV camping, splash pad, and kid's playground area. You can also take a deep dive into the Great Saltpetre Cave or climb new heights to see the beauty of Anglin Falls. Throughout the county are places where you can travel the same path as pioneers took along the Boone Trace and Wilderness Road.
Get your motor running at Rockcastle Motor Speedway, or slow down and eat at one of our many locally owned restaurants for some delicious home cooking. Take home a souvenir of your travels from the gift shop inside our visitor center at the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame.
Conveniently located on I-75, just 45 miles south of Lexington, Rockcastle County is nestled in the foothills of the Cumberland Mountains and is the perfect spot to relax and forget your troubles. We invite you to come and experience our small town charm and hospitality. We guarantee you'll want to come back and bring someone with you so they can experience it too!
